Payroll Controller and Accounts Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Controller and Accounts Assistant to manage end-to-end payroll processes and handle accommodation income accounting. This role requires precision and a strong understanding of payroll regulations and accounting principles to ensure all employees are paid correctly and company finances are accurately recorded.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Process the company’s payroll monthly, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in payments.
- Manage all payroll data inputs including new hires, terminations, and updates to employee records.
- Calculate and update absence records, including annual and statutory leaves.
- Ensure compliance with all payroll-related regulations, including tax, social security, and employment laws.
- Handle annual filings such as P60s and P11Ds and manage pension contributions and deductions.
- Act as the primary contact for employee payroll inquiries, providing clear and prompt responses.
- Reconcile accommodation booking payments with bank statements and accurately record them in the accounting system.
- Ensure all accommodation income is recorded correctly within the accounting period and reconcile occupancy records with financial results.
- Support the finance team with general accounting duties to ensure smooth financial operations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for financial analysis and reporting.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience with in-house payroll systems.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, including double-entry bookkeeping, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Experienced in bank and credit card reconciliations and financial month-end closing activities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
