We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Assistant to join a busy HR team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. Based near Nantwich, you will play a key role in supporting payroll operations across multiple payrolls, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in processing the weekly payrolls.
- Support monthly payroll processing and reporting.
- Respond to payroll queries from managers and employees via email and phone.
- Collect, calculate, and input payroll data accurately.
- Check the accuracy of payments and statutory deductions.
- Process PAYE/NIC, statutory payments, tax code changes, and court orders.
- Record and calculate absence leave and payments.
- Monitor and coordinate workplace pension submissions.
- Administer company benefits and process related documentation.
- Work closely with Accounts to provide payroll reports.
- Upload payslips and P45s to the system.
- Process BACS payments to HMRC for PAYE.
- Provide general administrative support to the wider team as required.
About You
- Previous payroll experience is essential.
- Strong numeracy skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- A team player with a professional and positive attitude.
