Payroll, Benefits, and People Data Lead

Location: Milton KeynesReports To: HR Director

Role Overview:The Payroll, Benefits, and People Data Lead will be responsible for managing payroll execution, overseeing benefits propositions, and leveraging HR data to make strategic recommendations. This role involves working closely with the global HR team, but tailored to the specific needs of the UK market. A strong background in payroll, benefits, and HR data management is essential, along with the ability to champion the Workday system and lead on the integration with ADP.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Management:
    • Lead and facilitate the payroll process, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
    • Oversee pay reviews and provide recommendations based on service length and market competitiveness.
    • Champion the implementation and use of ADP, ensuring it integrates smoothly with Workday.
  • Benefits Strategy:
    • Manage and evolve the benefits proposition, taking internal feedback and market competitor analysis into account.
    • Make strong, data-driven recommendations to senior leadership regarding benefits enhancements.
  • People Data Management:
    • Build and maintain HR dashboards and spreadsheets to report on key metrics such as staff turnover, time to hire, and recruitment costs.
    • Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support SLT decision-making.
    • Ensure the payroll and benefits processes are supported by accurate and timely data reporting.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Work closely with senior leadership and global HR teams to align local and international strategies.
    • Participate in SLT budget discussions, providing insights on how new roles and adjustments can be managed within existing budgets.
  • Workday Champion:
    • Lead the local deployment and management of Workday, providing training and support to staff as needed.
    • Act as a subject matter expert on Workday and ADP integrations.

Key Requirements:

  • Payroll Expertise:
    • Hands-on experience with payroll systems, ideally ADP, and managing payroll services in a complex, global organization.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making:
    • Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, V-lookups) and the ability to manage complex spreadsheets.
    • Experience in HR data reporting and analytics, with a strong focus on delivering data-backed recommendations.
  • HR Generalist Experience:
    • Solid understanding of HR processes, with experience in benefits management, pay review recommendations, and working with senior leadership.
  • Curiosity & Teamwork:
    • A proactive approach to work, with a curiosity to go beyond day-to-day tasks, contributing to high-performing team dynamics.
    • Willingness to provide input on broader HR topics and participate in HR investigations or projects as needed.
  • Desirable Skills:

    • Experience with ADP and Workday integrations.
    • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly in working with international teams.
    • Ability to manage personal budgets and make strategic decisions based on financial forecasts.
