We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Payroll Coordinator to join our vibrant and friendly HR Team.

The HR department at Fieldfisher is responsible for the provision of a full range of HR services to the Firm including recruitment and resourcing, talent management, compensation and benefits, performance management, employee relations, staff welfare, compliance and maintenance of personnel records.

A bit about the role

  • Collaborate with the Payroll Lead to manage the end-to-end monthly payroll process.
  • Support the HR Apprentice with general administrative tasks to ensure smooth team operations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records for all employees.
  • Handle payroll queries from employees and the HR department.
  • Assist in developing and implementing payroll policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with the wider Reward Team to administer employee benefits, including communication with benefit providers.
  • Review and verify payroll reports before the release of payslips.
  • Edit content on the Payroll & Benefit intranet pages, post updates on the e-noticeboard, and coordinate with the Marketing Team.
  • Support the Reward & Benefits Manager with recurring and ad hoc projects, including Payroll Year End and Pay Gap reporting.
  • Manage HMRC correspondence and queries, and oversee third-party administration such as pension reconciliation, voluntary deductions, and benefits reporting.
  • Collaborate with the accounting department on payments and deductions.
  • Ensure compliance with all payroll regulations and standards, staying updated on changes in payroll laws.

A bit about you

  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage and verify large data sets.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) with experience as a primary point of contact for queries and stakeholder management.
  • Excellent time management skills with experience in project management and meeting strict deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook. Advanced Excel skills, including formulas for data gathering, verification, analysis, and report generation.
  • Familiarity with payroll software and systems, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies.
  • Understanding of payroll compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
