Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Manager to oversee their payroll operations across the UK.
Responsibilities:As a Payroll Manager you will be responsible for –
- Oversee and manage the end-to-end payroll process for 350-500 employees, including salaried and hourly paid staff.
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, meeting all monthly and weekly deadlines.
- Handle complex payroll calculations, including pensions, bonuses, and statutory deductions (e.g., PAYE, NIC, SSP, SMP).
- Prepare and submit RTI (Real Time Information) filings to HMRC, ensuring full compliance with UK payroll legislation and HMRC regulations.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare detailed reports for management and auditors.
- Identify and implement opportunities to streamline and improve payroll processes, adopting best practices.
Requirements:As a Payroll Manager you will need -
- Demonstrated experience in payroll management, ideally within a multi-site or large organisation.
- In-depth knowledge of UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, NIC, pensions, and statutory payments.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
- Effective problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex payroll issues.
- Experience in managing or mentoring teams
