Payroll Officer - Robertson Bell : Job Details

We are proud to be partnering with a vibrant and progressive public sector organisation to recruit a Payroll Accountant to join their busy finance team.

In this key role, you will be responsible for:

• Administering the full payroll process, including data entry, reporting, and liaising with the outsourced payroll provider
• Maintaining employee benefit records such as season ticket loans, staff loans, and pension contributions
• Preparing monthly payroll journals and balance sheet reconciliations
• Providing support to the finance team with accounting tasks, including assisting with the production of monthly management accounts

The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven payroll administration experience, ideally managing a payroll of 50+ employees
• Strong accounting knowledge and skills, with an AAT qualification or equivalent
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
• Good communication skills to liaise with staff and external providers
• An interest in working in the public sector

This is a 40-hour per week role, with potential for some flexible working. The salary range is £30,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience. Study support is available.
