Location: Glasgow or EdinburghSalary: From £75,000 & Excellent BenefitsJob Type: Full-time, Permanent Are you a talented Pensions Solicitor with 4-5 years of post-qualification experience looking to work for one of the UK's top 15 law firms? We're partnering closely with a leading client known for their cutting-edge legal work and supportive work environment, offering an exciting opportunity to join their highly regarded Pensions team. The Role: You will be joining a tier one pensions team, working on a diverse range of high-profile and complex pension matters. You will advise both trustees and employers on scheme governance, pension liabilities, regulatory compliance, and transactional work. The firm has an outstanding reputation for delivering pragmatic, commercially focused advice across sectors, and you'll be at the heart of this. Key Responsibilities:
  • Advising on a wide variety of pension schemes, corporate pension structures, and compliance with UK pensions legislation.
  • Providing guidance on pensions regulatory matters, including Pensions Regulator interventions and pension scheme funding.
  • Supporting clients with mergers, acquisitions, and other transactions that affect pension arrangements.
  • Drafting and negotiating scheme documents, including trust deeds and rules, and advising on pension scheme funding negotiations.
  • Collaborating with internal departments such as employment, tax, and corporate to deliver seamless cross-disciplinary advice.
Requirements:
  • 4-5 years of PQE as a pensions solicitor, ideally with experience from a reputable law firm.
  • A strong academic background and a solid understanding of UK pensions law.
  • Proven experience in advising both employers and trustees on pension matters, including scheme management and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with clients.
  • A proactive and commercial approach to problem-solving.
