Reporting to the Director of People and Culture, the purpose of the role is to lead the small People team while strategically partnering the Head of Departments across the business. This role is key in identifying opportunities for the People function to add strategic value and will lead on the delivery of strategic people projects, whilst also being a hands-on operational role.
Responsibilities:
- Build strategic partnerships with the Senior Leadership Team (Heads of Department and Exec Team) across the business to support the delivery of their business strategies and solutions to their people challenges
- Provide advice, guidance and coaching to managers on people-related matters including absence, performance and ER issues
- Lead the People Services team; support, coach and mentor the team to deliver a customer-focussed, compliant people service
- Lead on business changes e.g., departmental reorganisations, restructures, working with Heads of Department to ensure clear business cases, project plans and communications, providing coaching and support to managers
- Deliver the annual employee engagement survey
- Support the Recruitment Advisor to design a best-in-class talent attraction strategy and EVP
- Design and deliver 'Management essentials’ training to upskill managers. Work with the L&D Business Partner to assess skills gaps and design training to address these gaps
- Develop and deliver an annual wellbeing strategy and planning an annual calendar of campaigns
- Lead the mental health first aiders and wellbeing champions
- Support with Strategic Workforce Planning; working with the L&D Business Partner
- Lead the delivery of the diversity strategy and action plan
- Manage external relationships/ partnerships and accreditations to maximise opportunity e.g., Disability confident, Tech Talent Charter, Menopause Friendly Accreditation, Clear Assured Inclusion Standard
- Work with the People Director on the internal comms strategy and annual internal comms plan
- Chair the Employee Voice Forum
- Develop the People team; coach and grow the team, motivating and inspiring them to deliver their best
Skills, experience and qualifications required:
- CIPD Level 5
- Demonstrable experience working in a senior HR role
- Strategic partnering experience
- Line management experience
- Strong influencing and problem solving skills
- Attention to detail
- High degree of emotional intelligence
