About the role

Our Group Shared Services encompasses; groupwide technology services (infrastructure and day-to-day service support), groupwide people services (payroll and HR transactional processes), facilities and health and safety (for non-JRHT offices) and procure-to-pay (procurement and accounts payable).

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a People Shared Services Lead - someone to, along with senior stakeholders in JRHT and JRF, agree and build the operating model in respect of the people-related products and services owned and operated by the People Shared Services team.

You will create and deliver a programme of transformation focussed on delivering modern systems and technology-enabled processes with a focus on self-service. The key focus areas will be the reduction of risk, a system of ongoing compliance, minimisation of paper (scanned documents), streamlining of processes, reduced number of handoffs, and fit for purpose systems.

The role is a key one for the Group - varied and pivotal, you will manage the Payroll Manager and People Services team leader to ensure delivery of all 'business-as-usual’ services and through strong risk management and associated controls, you will ensure that services comply with legislation and are in line with good practice for an organisation of our size.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be a change agent with knowledge of programme management, process re-engineering and technology-enabled solutions. With experience of managing and inspiring a team around the delivery of efficient services and a culture of continuous improvement, you will have strong knowledge and expertise in payroll management and administration with a deep understanding of best practice HR services, systems and UK employment law and the implications for practical processes.

With strong management and coaching skills, you will be able to lead and motivate a team through change whilst delivering high-quality services. You will be a critical thinker and a natural problem solver with the ability to create and sell a vision for the future.

A confident and skilled communicator; able to work with stakeholders to understand their issues and negotiate and influence solutions that ultimately improve the experience of service users, you will be able to develop and maintain a diverse range of stakeholder relationships, that will deliver best value for money for staff and the organisation.
