People Specialist - Royal Air Force : Job Details

The RAF is looking to recruit candidates across the UK to join as a People Specialist. In your role as People Specialist in the RAF, you will enjoy a diverse, exciting, and highly rewarding career. Wherever the RAF is based, there is an HR team ready to provide a professional service and welfare support to personnel of all specialisations, including those in the RAF Reserve.

Experience Needed - None! but you do need the minimum education requirements of:

• As a minimum, you will need GCSEs at Grade C/4 or Scottish National 5 at Grade C in English Language and Mathematics.
• Waivers may be considered for professional qualifications and/or experience.

What will you do?

In your role you could be:

• Advising on and administering pay and allowances, movements, travel and accommodation
• Preparing RAF personnel for deployment to operations and military exercises and supporting them throughout.
• Processing performance appraisals
• Providing welfare support to all personnel in the UK and overseas
• Administering Service Discipline procedures
• Managing career assignments in the UK and overseas, enhancing personnel employment pathways
• Analytics & Business Intelligence
• Executive Support
• Business Support
• Employment Policy
• Accounting & Finance
• Other roles may include Recruitment, Instructing/Training and many more.

People Specialist Requirements

• Be a citizen of the United Kingdom or the Republic of Ireland, holder of a dual UK/other nationality or have been a Commonwealth citizen from birth. This is due to the rapid and effective deployability of RAF personnel to countries that apply travel restrictions to non-UK personnel.
• Be between 16 and 47 (Must start training before 48th birthday). Application will be accepted from 15 years and 9 months.
• Commit to minimum 3 years post specialist training.
• Pass a Fitness test.

• Pass the Defence Aptitude Assessment
