Fantastic opportunity for a Plant Buying Manager to join our client's esteemed and independent Garden Centre in Inverness, Scotland. If you have extensive horticultural knowledge and purchasing experience, this full-time, permanent position could be your perfect next step.

Responsibilities

As the Plant Buying Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and developing our client's thriving plant sales department. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and managing a small team of dedicated staff.
• Driving plant quality and sales and supporting related initiatives.
• Providing face-to-face sales assistance and managing customer enquiries.
• Collaborating with suppliers to ensure well-stocked departments that meet customer demand.
• Maintaining high standards of presentation, merchandising, and pricing strategies.
• Attending trade shows including foreign locations and purchasing large quantities of suitable plants.
• Site visits.

Key Qualifications:

• Strong horticultural knowledge and experience
• Proven supervisory or managerial experience in a Garden Centre or similar environment
• Ability to supervise, mentor, and develop a team
• Ability to confidently buy large quantities of plants for multiple sites
• Energetic, creative, and positive attitude
• Strong IT and numeracy skills
• Full UK driving licence
• Relocation support is available.

This role is ideal for someone currently holding a Plant Buyer / Manager position or a similar role, ready to advance their career. You will bring energy, creativity, and a passion for engaging with the public, ensuring our Garden Centre continues to flourish. Please note that regular weekend work on a rotational basis will be required.

SALARY: Up to £40,000
