Platform Engineer - Contract

My client is growing their core IT Platform Team, as a result they require an expert Linux SME, with a focus on automation.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline Linux system management, deployment, and configuration tasks.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the testing, deployment, and release processes for applications and infrastructure.
• Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to identify automation opportunities and implement solutions that improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Automate the lifecycle management of Linux systems, including provisioning, configuration, patching, and decommissioning.

Experience required

• Expert knowledge and experience of Ansible.
• Experience of writing complex Ansible Playbooks.
• Expert RHEL 7/8/9 knowledge.
• Expert experience with using other Red Hat products such as Satellite, OpenShift, iDM, insights etc.
• Solid Git knowledge and CI/CD pipeline experience.
• Experience with Scripting and IaC (Bash, Python, YAML etc)
• Working knowledge of vSphere virtualisation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background using Red Hat.
