Job Description :

In this pivotal role, you will lead a team of Investment Building Surveyors, overseeing all pre-contract activities for investment projects, from validation and technical evaluation to CDM requirements and work specifications. You'll ensure a seamless handover to our in-house delivery team and manage the department's master specifications while playing a key role in our tendering process for new frameworks and partners.

Description

  • Lead and supervise the Investment Surveyor team, ensuring projects are planned efficiently and pre-construction milestones are met to facilitate the start of site works.
  • Coordinate the validation of investment requirements to create accurate project scopes of work for the Investment Plan.
  • Collaborate with the Delivery Team to ensure all project details are in place for smooth handover to Principal Contractors.
  • Manage the appointment of external Principal Designers, ensuring CDM and Building Regulation compliance for pre-construction documentation.
  • Act as the operational lead for Asset Investment, supporting the procurement team in preparing tender documents, specifications, and client requirements, and analysing tender submissions.
  • Support the Asset Investment & Planning Manager in ensuring that all projects are aligned with budgets and operational needs.
  • Regularly review and update specifications to meet regulatory standards, with a focus on whole-life maintenance costs and innovative solutions where applicable.

Profile

  • Proven experience in leading and managing teams within a similar role.
  • Expertise in managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong background in preparing designs, specifications, and contract documents for large investment projects.
  • Experience in managing workloads and meeting defined targets.
  • In-depth knowledge of building construction, compliance obligations, CDM, planning regulations, and contract administration.
  • Familiarity with construction finance and budget management.
  • RIBA Certificate or relevant demonstrable experience (desirable).
  • A degree in Building Surveying (desirable).
  • A full UK driving license is essential for this role.
