Pre Sales Engineer
Birmingham - hybrid working from home with onsite client visits 2/3 times per week
£45-48K plus car allowance (£425pcm) and excellent benefits package
To be successful in this role:
You will be a confident Pre Sales Engineer who is currently in a similar position, although we would consider an IT Consultant or Engineer who has excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of commercial business. Other requirements for this role include experience with:
- MS 365 and Azure (predominantly security - Endpoint Manager - servers - Business Prem/E3 stack)
- Virtualisation (VMWare vSphere. Hyper-V)
- Storage - SAN’s (HP MSA/Nimble - Dell MD)
- Windows Server
- Active Directory
- Exchange Server
- SQL Server
- Switching (including dynamic routing and dynamic VLANS)
- Firewalling and perimeter security (Next gen firewalls)
- Wi-Fi (enterprise grade)
- Good understanding of communication networks (Lease Line - Radio - FTTP - etc)
- Remote Desktop Services /AVD
- SSLVPN’s
- Basic SQL configuration and infrastructure optimisation
- Good understanding of MSP support and managed services offerings
- Full Clean UK driving license
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a thoroughly professional approach
- Professional in appearance and with good commercial acumen
- Experience of actively driving and managing the pre sales process
- Good attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Must be comfortable in a working from home environment and be able to visit the office once or twice a month
- Formal qualifications are desirable but not essential as experience is valued more highly
Job role and responsibilities:
- Attending meetings with clients and prospects to showcase technical abilities
- Providing assistance and guidance during the pre-sales process by identifying technical and business requirements prior to designing an IT solution
- Collating client information to produce solutions
- Writing and producing documentation, designs, and proposals
- Delivering technical presentations both internally and externally
- Working with various teams to feedback on issues with current products and provide input around new products
- Creating scopes of works for project delivery teams and working with them to successfully deliver a project
- Providing technical solutions in a professional manner and to agreed timeframes
- Promoting and quoting technical solutions, managed services and support services with professionalism and enthusiasm
- Providing accurate and timely management information and activity reports and forecasts
- Providing technical specialist support in some or all of the following: Microsoft Server/365/Azure, HPe Server/Storage, Aruba Switching, Dell Server/Storage, SonicWALL Firewall/Switching, Ruckus Wi-Fi/Switching and other leading specialist vendors
