Premises Manager - Primary School in Southwark

Are you an experienced and proactive Premises Manager with a strong background in school operations? Are you ready to make a positive impact in a dynamic primary school environment?

We are seeking a dedicated Premises Manager to join our vibrant primary school in Southwark. This full-time, long-term role is set to begin after the half term in early February and will continue for the remainder of the academic year, with the potential for a longer-term position.

Key Details:

• Start Date: February (after half term)
• Daily Rate: £127.22
• Contract: Full-time, long-term
• Team: Managing a team of 5, including a caretaker, premises assistants, and cleaners

Role Responsibilities:

As Premises Manager, you will:

• Oversee the maintenance, security, and overall presentation of the school premises.
• Lead and manage a team of 5 staff, ensuring the school environment is safe, clean, and conducive to learning.
• Liaise with senior school leaders to ensure premises-related priorities align with the school's needs.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, completing necessary risk assessments and maintenance schedules.
• Manage contractors and suppliers for routine maintenance and larger projects.
• Take a hands-on approach to problem-solving and maintaining high standards across the site.

Requirements:

• Proven management experience, ideally in a similar role.
• Experience working in a school environment, with an understanding of its unique requirements and operations.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to lead a diverse team effectively.
• Knowledge of health and safety protocols and procedures.
• A proactive attitude and a commitment to creating a safe and welcoming environment for staff and students.
