A school in Hackney is seeking a dedicated and experienced Primary Assistant Head/SENCO to join our senior leadership team starting in September. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and skilled educator to make a significant impact on our inclusive and supportive school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Oversee the implementation of the SEND policy and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for all pupils.
  • Develop and deliver effective strategies to support pupils with SEND across the school.
  • Monitor and track the progress of pupils with SEND, providing feedback and interventions as necessary.
  • Support the Headteacher in the strategic leadership of the school.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and improvement plans.
  • Lead and manage a team of staff, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have significant experience working with pupils with SEND.
  • Possess the National Award for SEN Coordination or be willing to work towards it.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and management skills.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be committed to the values and ethos of the school.
  • Show a passion for inclusive education and a commitment to supporting all pupils to achieve their full potential.
  • Have a proven track record of improving outcomes for pupils with SEND.
