Learning Support Assistant
- Contract Type: Temporary (12-week basis with potential for permanent employment)

- Working Hours: 25 hours per week over 5 days
We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team on a temporary 12-week contract, with the possibility of a permanent role thereafter. The successful candidate will provide support to a new Year 4 pupil with autism and complex needs, starting after the October half-term.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide one-to-one support to a Year 4 pupil with autism and complex needs, ensuring they are engaged and making progress.
- Assist with the implementation of individual education and behaviour plans.
- Facilitate the pupil’s communication with peers and teachers.
- Support the pupil during classroom activities and transitions throughout the school day.
- Perform PEG feeding and manage any other medical needs of the pupil, following all necessary training and protocols.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to promote the pupil’s educational and social development.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in supporting children with special educational needs, particularly those with autism.
- Trained and experienced in PEG feeding.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by children with complex needs.
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing disposition.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A proactive and flexible approach to the pupil’s care and education.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
