Career Teachers are recruiting passionate and qualified Teachers to work in a range of Primary Schools in the Wakefield Education Authority. Successful applicants can work on a full time or part time basis.

Career Teachers support a range of schools including Independent, SEN and Faith Schools.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Primary Teacher with experience of working with children with SEMH needs to join the team at a lovely special needs school in the Wakefield Education Authority. This school supports students with a range of SEMH needs and many of their pupils join the school having experienced disruption to their school life, often from an early age. The school's curriculum offer includes PPF, SEBS (social, emotional and behavioural skills), vocational experiences, work placements and a range of accreditation at KS4. All pupils are being prepared for life after school and positive futures. This full-time position is available from October half term and will continue for until January with good prospects to extend. You will play a crucial role in supporting students with SEMH issues, helping them to thrive in their educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for the learning and achievement of all pupils in the class/es ensuring equality of opportunity for all.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) and education health care plans (EHCPs).
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to support student development.
  • Monitor and document student progress and behaviour.
  • Encourage social interaction and positive behaviour among students.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEMH or other special needs.
  • A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special education are desirable.

All quoted rates are inclusive of 12.07% holiday pay.
