Job Description :

Service Care Solutions is working alongside a dynamic local authority, based in Berkshire, which is in need of a principal contracts lawyer to join their commercial team. In this role you will provide strategic leadership and manage high-performing legal professionals.

The role can pay a competitive rate of £65-£70ph umbrella. The rate offered will be based on experience and interview performance. This is a hybrid contract and will operate on a three-month rolling basis.

Key Responsibilities Of The Principal Contracts Lawyer Role:

  • Provide expert legal advice on commercial contracts, procurement, IT, technology, construction, information management, grant agreements, JCT and NEC contracts.
  • Navigate public sector frameworks and ensure compliance with relevant rules and regulations.
  • Offer strategic legal counsel whilst sitting on and advising various boards within the Council.
  • Lead a team of senior lawyers, lawyers, and paralegals; ensuring the effective allocation and management of legal work.

Ideal Candidate:

  • A qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with 5+ years of PQE in contract and procurement law within the public sector.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience of managing legal professionals at all levels.
  • Strong understanding of public sector frameworks and the ability to advise on a variety of complex legal matters.
