We are seeking a Development Manager with a strong background in land and property development, particularly within major housing, regeneration, or placemaking projects. This role is ideal for a proactive self-starter with extensive experience in managing commercial contracts and negotiations, and a keen ability to lead projects from conception through to completion.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Lead and manage land and/or property developments, including commercial negotiations.
- Develop and manage funding agreements and contracts, ensuring they align with project goals and compliance requirements.
- Manage budget and financial monitoring of projects, tracking progress and adjusting plans as necessary to meet objectives.
- Manage risk and ensure compliance with governance and assurance processes.
- Work in partnership with a variety of stakeholders, including those in a political context, to achieve results.
- Utilise extensive experience in business case development to support project viability and success.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience in a similar role.
- Proven experience in leading and managing land and/or property developments.
- Strong skills in commercial contract management and negotiations.
- Experience with legal complexities of site assembly and delivery of capital works.
- Proven contract management and project management skills, with knowledge of various techniques and good practice.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong partnership relationships.
- Understanding of contractual mechanisms to safeguard public investment is desirable.
