Job Title: Principal Systems AccountantContract Type: Temporary (4 Months)Daily Rate: £400 - £450Working Pattern: Full Time, 3 days on site per week

About the Role:Our client is seeking a dedicated Principal Systems Accountant to enhance the integrity of their finance systems under Corporate Finance. This temporary position offers a unique opportunity to lead a small team of accountants in maintaining and improving financial processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the maintenance of accurate financial information across systems, ensuring compliance with statutory reporting requirements.
  • Conduct regular data integrity reviews, data cleansing, and reconciliations of core systems.
  • Collaborate with the IT ERP Team to resolve system issues and implement necessary upgrades.
  • Manage key reconciliations and support year-end closure processes, ensuring internal and external audit compliance.
  • Develop financial and management reports to facilitate corporate budget monitoring and year-end accounts.
  • Train service accountants and administrative staff on financial systems and procedures.
  • Foster strong relationships with external stakeholders and promote collaboration within the team.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Fully qualified CCAB accountant or equivalent qualification with at least one year of finance experience.
  • Proven knowledge of accounting principles and local government finance.
  • Experience in large organisations, focusing on financial systems administration and development.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to manage and develop a team effectively.
  • Numerate, with experience analysing large volumes of financial data.
