I am recruiting for a leading food manufacturer in Norfolk who are looking for a highly experienced Category Buyer to join their team. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company objectives.
- Manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions.
- Monitor market trends and identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand their procurement needs and provide support.
- Maintain accurate records and reports on procurement activities.
Requirements for the role:
- Proven purchasing experience is essential.
- Experience in sourcing food or similar is desired.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Experienced in sourcing categories across multiple geographies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Work with supply chain stakeholders to ensure business continuity, and with commercial, production and technical stakeholders to deliver cost reduction objectives and innovation needs.
- The ability to develop and maintain strong supplier relationships
