Product Assessor - Food - Booker Group : Job Details

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Technical / Quality Assurance department for a Product Assessor in our development kitchen for our Food own brand product range, on a temporary basis. 

This role is based at our Booker Northampton branch and due to the nature of responsibilities, is site based five days a week. 

You\'ll get involved in the assessment of new and current products as well as the maintenance of the test kitchen.

Role Responsibility

You will be implementing a range of product assessment and development activities including: 

• Undertake routine product assessments on our own brand products – both at first production stage for new products and according to the ongoing schedule.
• Communicate any issues with products clearly and concisely to the relevant Technical Manager, for them to manage the issues with the relevant internal and external stakeholders.
•  Assist with new product development and benchmarking meetings in our kitchen.
• Complete and maintain all the required due diligence activities and records for our own brand products (including updating the ongoing test schedule), in support of our policies and procedures.
• Help to ensure the kitchen is correctly cleaned.

You will need

• To have a focused, attention to detail approach, but be flexible, approachable and methodical.
• To have good communication and analytical skills and a desire to ensure exacting product and operational standards are maintained.
• To be able to forge strong and productive relationships across all levels of the team.
• To have some kitchen experience and previous experience of product development would be highly advantageous.
• To be a team player, with good communication and interpersonal skills.
• To have the ability to work without close supervision, to prioritise your work and be comfortable communicating at all levels.
• To have proficient IT skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Use of retailer web-based specification portals would be an advantage.
