MAIN PURPOSE
Has responsibility for the day to day buying requirements within the Buying Team
RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOB
- Managing and motivating the team to deliver the day-to-day activities of the Procurement department.
- Approving & devising strategies for daily negotiations with colleagues in China office
- Maintaining & Improving the Established Relationship with our China Office.
- Assisting with building, maintaining & implementing record of data, new processes and systems
- Ensuring all company processes and procedures are adhered to including an effective email filing system
- Support the Buying Manager with the Review of suppliers’ reliability & quality performance in alliance with colleagues in China office
- Ensuring Purchase Orders are sent out in a timely and accurate manner.
- Overseeing the checking of samples and swatches to ensure we ship products to meet our quality standards and customer expectations.
- Closely monitoring team communications with all other departments and supporting as required
- Deputising for the Buying Manager or Assistant Manager; stand-in in their absence
- To attend China trade fair as required
PERSONSPECIFICATION
- Proven successful track record within a buying-procurement/product environment
- Highly organised, methodical with excellent attention to detail
- Thrives in a fast-moving environment and enjoys new challenges
- Good negotiation, influencing and analytical skills
- High level mathematics/numeracy skills (including GCSE maths A or B or equivalent)
- Possess excellent PC skills - proficiency in Excel and Outlook are essential
- CIPS qualified or part qualified desirable
