Product Manager
Here's what you'll be doing
npower Business Solutions (nBS) powered by E.ON is a leading £5 billion revenue business with a vision to become the number one B2B energy supplier in the UK. We serve approximately 60,000 customers and manage around 300,000 meter points in the Industrial and Commercial (I&C) sector.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Product Manager to join our team. For this role, you will be responsible for the I&C core supply & risk management product suite, covering the full spectrum of the product life-cycle from strategy & origination, through to new product development, through to the ongoing performance & management of existing products. This role is based in Solihull, with hybrid working.
Key responsibilities
- Accountable for the creation, management and continual enhancement of customer facing Terms & Conditions used by I&C, from Standard Conditions of Supply, through to product related contract documentation.
- Project manage the end-to-end product development process, ensuring it delivers on time, including product structuring, design & initial planning, virtual management of internal stakeholders, process development & mapping.
- Ideation across core supply & risk management product families to unlock new opportunities and stay ahead of the Market, using both internal and external insight.
- Conduct the initial structuring of new ideas & concepts, working up robust business cases and where appropriate performing trials to test appetite.
- Based upon an assessment of business case, strategy and operational capability, make recommendations to support the Product & Transaction Manager in making prioritisation decisions.
- Management of commercial risks introduced by new development, ability to create legally fit for purpose terms & conditions / contract documentation and ongoing tracking against delivery plan.
- Management of the existing I&C core supply & risk management product suite, ensuring products are working as operationally intended and risks / issues are managed.
- Co-ordination of product literature creation at initial launch, in conjunction with other areas of the Marketing Team.
What we need from you
- Proven industry experience, ideally in a risk management, commercial, product and / or deal structuring capacity, or where there has been significant exposure to products, contracts and their general workings.
- A good understanding of power and gas markets, in addition to the evolving energy solutions market (including energy management and demand management), as well as generation services and metering.
- Demonstrable experience of working with legal functions on drafting, reviewing terms & conditions and managing contractual risks.
- Strong stakeholder manager at all levels, with the ability to influence, negotiate and manage expectations across numerous areas.
- Results orientated and will be comfortable working in a high-pressure environment.
It would be great if you had
- Demonstrable experience in creatively identifying solutions to customer needs and bespoke customer requirements.
- Experience in converting complex risks, issues & product structures into easily understandable, concise offerings.
- Experience in converting external needs, regulatory changes and competitor changes into clearly defined actions.
