About the Role:As Production Manager, you’ll report to the Site Manager and take charge of a team of 35 employees, including:
- 2 Team Leaders
- 1 Foreman
- 20 General Operatives
- 8 Plant Operatives
Your role will be 70% hands-on and 30% office-based, ensuring the smooth daily operations of all processing and reprocessing equipment. You'll be working closely with the Site Manager, Production Manager (Docks), Process Engineer, and other line managers to meet key site objectives and targets. Flexibility is key as the role may occasionally require working beyond contracted hours or being on-call to meet operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily site operations, ensuring targets are met and compliance with Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety standards.
- Manage workforce performance, fostering strong working relationships across teams and with the site management.
- Collaborate with the Transport Department to ensure smooth material movements for production.
- Drive production KPIs, manage labour planning, and organize resources for maximum efficiency.
- Work with the Maintenance Team to ensure plant uptime through proactive maintenance measures.
- Handle material deliveries, inspections, and turnaround processes.
- Ensure full compliance with HSEQ standards, reporting, and training requirements.
- Generate reports and attend site meetings to review production, safety, and stock performance.
About You:
- Experience: Ideally from a Scrap Metal background, Metal manufacturing, Recycling or Plastic background
