Davenham have an exciting opportunity available for a Production Manager to join our team based in Fairham, Nottingham. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £60,000 - £70,000 per annum.

About the role

Hours: 39 hours Monday to Thursday, 7.30am to 5.30pm.

As our Production Manager, you will oversee and lead the production team to ensure the efficient, high-quality, and timely manufacture of Davenham’s electrical distribution and control solutions. The role requires a proactive leader with strong technical expertise and operational management experience in manufacturing environments.

Your key duties as our Production Manager will include:

  • Plan, manage, and optimise daily production activities to meet project schedules and customer requirements
  • Ensure production processes align with the company’s commitment to quality and efficiency
  • Champion 5S principles, maintaining a safe and efficient work environment, applying continuous improvement methodology
  • Lead, motivate, and manage a multidisciplinary production team
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and high performance
  • Uphold Davenham’s reputation for excellence by ensuring all products meet quality standards and regulatory compliance
  • Oversee inspections and address any quality concerns promptly
  • Analyse production workflows to identify areas for improvement and implement lean manufacturing practices
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to streamline manufacturing processes
  • Manage inventory levels and ensure the availability of raw materials, tools, and equipment
  • Work closely with procurement and supply chain teams to prevent delays
  • Enforce compliance with HSE regulations and promote a culture of workplace safety
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure safe working practices are followed
  • Monitor production costs and maintain departmental budgets and provide reports to relevant stake holders as required
  • Prepare regular reports on production performance, challenges, and opportunities

What we are looking for in our Production Manager:

  • HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • IOSH Working Safely.
  • NEBOSH qualified (Desirable)
  • Proven track record in production management within the electrical manufacturing industry, specifically in low voltage switchgear or related sectors
  • Experience managing a production team in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
  • Proficiency in production management tools and software (e.g., ERP systems).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes for electrical distribution solutions
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, inspire, and develop a team
  • Clear and confident communicator, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels
