Manufacturing Operative
  • Location: Cheltenham with some travel (majority of work will be complete in the same day and you will back by 4pm the that day)
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Salary: £24,000 - £28,000

We are seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Operative to ensure the smooth and efficient running of our clients day-to-day warehouse and manufacturing processes. This role is crucial in handling and processing materials and products, ensuring quality control, and adhering to safety and compliance standards. Day-to-day of the role:
  • Warehouse Duties:
    • Manage inventory by receiving, inspecting, and booking incoming goods.
    • Fulfil orders by picking, packing, and preparing shipments, ensuring accuracy in labelling and documentation.
    • Maintain a clean and organised warehouse environment to optimise space and operational flow.
    • Conduct daily machine checks and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and compliance.
    • Identify and report opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Manufacturing Duties:
    • Support production by adhering to schedules and assisting in tasks like cutting, welding, and quality checks.
    • Operate and monitor manufacturing equipment, performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting as necessary.
    • Ensure products meet quality standards and report any defects to the Production Manager.
  • Health and Safety:
    • Comply with all safety protocols and regulations, use personal protective equipment (PPE), and follow safe working practices.
    • Participate in safety and operational training sessions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with both warehouse and manufacturing teams to integrate logistics with production processes.
    • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to resolve issues and ensure efficient workflow.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • GCSE qualifications, including Maths, English, and IT.
  • Experience in a production environment.
  • Health & Safety awareness; willingness to undertake training.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Email).
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Forklift truck license and IPAF license are advantageous but not essential.
  • Full driving license, clean.
