Production Purchaser (Temporary to Permanent) - Astute Recruitment Ltd : Job Details

A reputable manufacturing company based in Derby are looking for an experienced Production Purchaser to join the team on a Temporary to Permanent basis.

One of the prime responsibilities for this role is to ensure that the production department can achieve customer’s requirements by ensuring the correct resources and equipment are available when needed.

Duties include:

• Receipt and acknowledgement of Customer orders and schedules
• Processing these into works orders for production and ordering purchased requirements using our dedicated ERP System
• Receiving internal purchasing requisitions, interpreting requirements and ensuring products/services are purchased using Approved Suppliers or appropriate suppliers/products/services
• Ensuring material is correctly booked-in and to the agreed pricing (cost control)
• Ensuring the products/services are delivered on time by expediting and progress chasing where necessary
• Maintaining and improving the quality of services/products purchased
• Carry out stock control (production and non-production items, consumables etc.)
• Maintaining relationships with existing suppliers plus seeking new ones
• Developing and interpreting reports to monitor and deliver improvements
• Identify and implement areas for systems improvements

The successful candidate will be working as part of a small team in a demanding environment where the ability to work flexibly, coordinate with and assist others is a priority for all members of the team.

The Production Purchaser will have experience of working in a manufacturing environment, knowledge of best practice in purchasing and Supplier management processes and be able to build strong working relationships.

This is a temporary role with the possibility of it going to a permanent position. Salary will be between £12.50 - £14.42 per hour, depending on experience. The hours of work are 7:30am - 4:30pm or 8:30am - 5:30pm, Monday to Thursday with an early finish on a Friday. They also offer 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and free onsite parking.
