The CompanyNigel Wright are pleased to be working with a leading food manufacturer that is looking to recruit a Project Engineer. Working alongside the Head of Project Engineering you’ll lead and manage a variety of engineering projects, ensuring all agreed standards are delivered on time and on budget. The Project Engineers are Industry experts who build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels. There is a huge amount of investment happening at different sites across the UK, offering the Project Engineer the opportunity to manage multiple projects cradle to grave. The Role

The Project Engineers are responsible for the delivery of all agreed engineering projects on time, to agreed standards and on budget ensuring that Continuous Improvement is embedded every time. As a Project Engineer you will be experienced in people management and leadership, coaching and influencing the site teams to enable the very best support for the project and a clear understanding of new processes and technology. You will also be sourcing and managing our supplier relationships therefore you will be experienced in the negotiation and purchase of plant items and machinery for major projects.  Working with our SAP system you will also ensure that our supplier agreements are managed effectively. Experience required:

  • Significant experience as a Project Engineer ideally gained in a multisite manufacturing and distribution within FMCG environment.
  • A time served Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering apprentice.
  • Broad Experience of systems; knowledge of SAP would be preferable.
  • Working knowledge of CAD.
  • Ability to read drawings and interpret designs correctly.
  • Be involved in problem solving and “trouble shooting” when appropriate.
  • Experienced in RCA.
  • Provide accurate and concise Ghant charts with milestones and target dates – critical path planning.
  • Ability to be flexible and change direction as and when necessary to suit the needs of the business.
  • Awareness of Food Industry Technology improvements and apply to projects as applicable to drive efficiency improvements and ensure Best Practice.
  • Be influential, articulate and persuasive, a relationship builder- establishing credibility with both internal and external contacts at all levels.
