Project Engineer

My Client are looking for a Project Engineer to join their UK Projects Department. The successful candidate will support the coordination and execution of all aspects of multi-discipline engineering, quality control, and material supply for £multi-million contracts. This role requires a professional with a strong project engineering or project management background, capable of delivering projects on time and within budget.
Day to Day of the Role:
- Review client purchase orders and Sales handover documentation.
- Issue job instructions and liaise with internal departments to ensure completion.
- Develop and monitor project schedules and Quality Plans.
- Draft material, fabrication, and equipment purchase order requisitions and specifications.
- Review technical aspects of sub-contractor bids.
- Manage the distribution and review of drawings and documents to clients and sellers.
- Compile contract variations, status reports, shipping lists, and installation instructions.
- Liaise with clients to ensure equipment meets job requirements and negotiate for extras as required.
- Manage sub-contractors to ensure products meet order specifications and delivery dates.
- Liaise with client’s site management and Construction Manager/Supervisor for contracts involving erection.
- Foreign travel to meetings with clients and suppliers.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- HND/Degree level in an engineering discipline preferred, or strong project engineering/management background.
- Proven ability to deliver projects on time and to budget.
- Good commercial acumen and analytical & technical problem-solving skills.
- Extremely organised with good attention to detail.
- Ability to plan, manage, and prioritise a diverse workload.
- Work quickly and accurately under pressure.
- Pro-active with a desire to improve processes and business performance.
- Good communication skills and ability to liaise with foreign clients and suppliers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel and MS Project. Knowledge of 2D or 3D CAD software is advantageous.
