Job Title: Project Manager – Employee & Business Support

Location:Preston. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary:Circa £63,000 depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Manage internally funded / capital projects through scoping, business case, delivery and business change
  • Provide local day to day management of diverse project teams, often including external suppliers
  • Manage stakeholders at all levels of the organisation including customers, external vendors, operational resource, senior management, IT suppliers and functional representatives
  • Develop business cases, Project Management Plans and schedules ensuring that the delivery of the projects is to time, cost and quality in line with the agreed plans
  • Monitor overall progress, managing risks, opportunities and resolving issues as required to keep the project on track to its agreed baseline and objectives
  • Forecast resource requirements, highlighting any issues
  • Manage the project’s budget, estimating and managing effort and costs, tracking and managing actuals as the project progresses
  • Responsible for the governance and integrity of the project
  • Manage projects at a range of values and complexity (typically between 50k to £5m)

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Experience of being responsible for delivery of a complex project / portfolio or multiple work packages of a larger project through the leadership of multi-disciplinary teams in a complicated project / portfolio environment
  • Previous project lifecycle experience (within Delivery / Planning / Controls/Business Change Management) through all phases of the Lifecycle
  • Project / programme / portfolio experience (e.g. SHE / Quality / Cost accountability) utilising relevant domain knowledge or through the effective leadership of and delegation
  • Demonstrable experience of managing complex projects through to completion
  • Experience of managing a group of cross-functional stakeholders to achieve a common objective
  • Understanding of formal project governance
  • APM PMQ (or equivalent)

Desirable:

  • ICP3
  • Leadership / Line Management Training
  • Formal business change qualification or equivalent experience

The Employee and Business Change team:

Shared Services currently have this great opportunity for a delivery Project Manager.

Reporting to the Projects Portfolio Manager, you will be directly responsible for all elements of delivering internally funded projects. You will be developing business cases, developing and delivering execution plans and managing multiple stakeholders through to project completion.

You may be managing several projects at any one time, with the majority in scope within People Services and Finance Operations.

This role will bring CV enrichment and exposure to the senior leadership team and provide you with the opportunity to work across all part of BAE Systems, allowing you to develop a broad understanding of the business.
