Join the dynamic Future Neighbourhoods team at the Greater London Authority in an exciting role as a Project Manager. This position offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of shaping sustainable and thriving neighbourhoods across London, focusing on climate-related initiatives such as retrofitting homes, improving air quality, and enhancing access to green spaces.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide comprehensive project management support for the Future Neighbourhoods programme.
- Manage a portfolio of environmental work and specific Mayoral projects, ensuring timely and quality delivery within budget.
- Facilitate the procurement and management of consultants and contractors, both internally and externally.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with international organisations, government departments, London Boroughs, and other public, private, and voluntary sector organisations.
- Build and sustain partnerships to support the delivery of the Mayor’s policies and programmes, including negotiating funding.
- Offer advice and prepare responses to queries from the Mayor, senior managers, and other stakeholders on environmental matters.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislative, technical, and policy changes in the environmental field.
- Ensure all activities align with the Authority’s policies, Code of Ethics, and Standards, promoting equality and diversity.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven project management experience: qualification or accreditation in a project management discipline is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects on time, to agreed quality standards, and within budget.
- Strong skills in contract management and stakeholder engagement.
- Proficiency in using office and statistical software, including word processing and spreadsheet packages.
- Experience in managing budgets is essential.
- Excellent problem-solving, planning, and organisational skills.
- Ability to respond effectively to pressure and change, and build/manage relationships effectively.
