Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) underpins everything we do in our business at Anglian Water. As well as maintaining our systems and 'keeping the lights on', we gather business intelligence, deliver complex system upgrades, provide innovative contact centre and mobile technology, design, build, and maintain new systems for future digital technology to enable Anglian Water to continue to deliver a high quality service to its customers.
Our team has been undergoing an exciting transformation to modernise our practices, tools and platforms to enhance our services and ensure they are best positioned to play a proactive and value-orientated role across our business.
The project manager is responsible for the initiation, planning, execution, performance / monitoring and closure of their projects. Behaviourally they should look at efficient and effective ways to deliver changes to drive continuous improvements through the AW organisation.
This role will be involved in project managing both DDat and Operational Technology (OT) projects.
In summary these tasks typically include:
Planning what work needs to be done, when and who's going to do it and mapping dependencies
Ensuring compliance with AWS Finance process to ensure projects are managed effectively from a budgetary perspective
Looking at the risks and dependencies involved in a particular project and managing these
Escalating as necessary any risks or issues as per project governance
Influencing and motivating the team of people involved in the project
Co-ordinating work done by different people and managing stakeholders continuously
Typically engaging and managing multiple Delivery Partners in the course of the project delivery Dealing with changes to the project as and when necessary
Making sure the project delivers the expected outcomes and benefits on time and within the cost agreed

Responsible for delivery of projects to Anglian Water Prince 2 APM level C Project Management methodology: -
The PM is accountable for building the plan
The PM is accountable for ensuring that permission is obtained to proceed through various stage gates
The PM is responsible for ensuring that governance is in place and management decisions can be made:
Responsible for delivering the following products:
Product Breakdown Structure
Project Initiation Delivery Document (PIDD) or Project Brief (depending on size and complexity of project)
Work Packages
Effective management of RAID
Monthly progress reporting
Project governance
You'll also takes ownership of the project and proactively drives the project to completion by energetically resolving issues and managing risks.
What does it take to be Project Manager?
HND/HNC/Prince 2/Advanced Project Management or equivalent experience
Significant demonstrable relevant experience of IS/IT or OT systems as applicable for the role
Commercial awareness with a track record of working with customers to realise business benefits and/or business outcomes
Experience and knowledge of converting operational capability and competence to a package of services for IS/OT exploitation
Significant demonstrable experience, including Project Management, Financial and performance management, relevant technical management.
Significant demonstrable experience of liaising, negotiating with external partners and suppliers
