About the role:

The Drax purpose is Enabling a zero carbon, lower cost energy future, and delivering on this purpose means we work in an environment of significant transformation and growth.  We have created a centralised Project Management Office (PMO) function to support the controlled delivery of the Drax Group project portfolio, in which this role will sit.

You’ll work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders across the business and drive projects to deliver key project outcomes and achieve stretching strategic targets. You’ll ensure that projects are delivered to scope, time, cost, and quality; and that risks are managed and mitigated effectively, whilst always ensuring health and safety, sustainability, regulatory and statutory compliance is achieved.

You’ll work as part of the Central PMO team but will need to build effective working relationships with each area of the business (Pellets, Generation, Commercial, Capital Projects, Innovation, Core Services)

This is a wide-reaching project leadership role requiring you to unlock your potential and adapt to various project characteristics such as strategic, compliance, business change, capital, Sustainability and operational change.

You’ll help us shape the future by contributing to building the PMO function and using your expertise and knowledge to further develop the team and our processes.

Who we’re looking for:

You’ll be a quick learner and a seasoned Project Manager with extensive experience in delivering large scale projects across multiple countries in a fast-paced environment. Typical projects can include M&A projects, organisational change, business change and complex IT deployment (from a business perspective). Experience of process improvement would also be beneficial.

You’ll be dynamic, self-motivated and decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands and have the ability to build and maintain relationships by engaging business stakeholders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus, and achieve objectives.

You’ll need to have excellent leadership, planning, communication (written, verbal and presentation), change management, stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
