Job Description :

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the maintenance of complex service charge estate, including NIA & density calculations.
  • Preparation of service charge budgets and calculation of service charges for tenants.
  • Raising quarterly service charges in a timely manner, including landlord void billing.
  • Reviewing service charge expenditure and investigating variances against budget, request forecasting adjustments if required, including presenting service charge reports at monthly budget meetings.
  • Preparation of the year end service charge accounts and reconciliation, including liaising with service charge auditors.
  • Communicating effectively with Estate / Building Managers and head office staff to ensure timely delivery of monthly reports to CWML Directors and external clients and resolution of queries.
  • Proactively manage the rapid expansion of the estate and associated Yardi configuration setup.
  • Assist with system development and process automation of estate service charges.
  • Review and reconciliation of tenant and landlord direct recoveries.
  • Liaise with Management Accounts/Financial Accounts on group reporting, financial statements and external audits.
  • Quarterly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and assisting the Financial Controller in presenting financial results to Group Finance on a quarterly basis.
  • Assist the Manager - Property Management Services and the wider team with other tasks as may be required.
  • PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Experience of at least 5 years in a service charge accounting background within a Property Management environment is essential. Broad experience across commercial, residential and retail service charges is highly desirable.
  • Experience using property management systems is required - experience with Yardi would be a particular benefit but is not required.
  • Part-Qualified accountant or Studying (ACA, ACCA or ACMA) is preferred.
  • The candidate must be able to work independently under pressure and be able to meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong data analysis skills and an ability to identify and resolve problems is essential.
  • Possess good communication skills and a desire to work closely with the wider Property Management Services team. Be able to establish good working relationships across the organisation.
  • Good Excel skills and an ability to present financial results in a concise and understandable manner is essential.
  • Salary : 50000 - 60000
