Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant in Haywards Heath
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant primary school in Hammersmith. This is an excellent opportunity for a psychology graduate looking to gain hands-on experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN), before pursuing a career in educational psychology, teaching, or related fields.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting teachers in the classroom to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons
- Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs
- Assisting in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional well-being among students
- Helping to create a stimulating and nurturing learning environment
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support pupil progress
The Ideal Candidate:
- A recent Psychology graduate (or a related field) with a passion for education and child development
- Experience working with children in a school, tutoring, or support role (desirable but not essential)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach
- A keen interest in special educational needs and child psychology
