Exciting opportunity to be the purchasing assistant of a successful and growing international Audio visual Equipment trading business.

About the role:

We are recruiting for an individual to join our sales and purchasing team to facilitate our business’s growth. We are an international Audia visual and associated equipment (rigging, lighting, stages) trading business operating out of Manston Business Park.

As purchasing assistant, you will be reporting to a member of the purchasing team to support in the purchase of equipment for our customers, and working with our close knit team based in our offices in Manston. The sales and purchasing team deal are split across sales and purchasing. Sales deal with initial enquiry to conversion, and also the organisation of shipping (in conjunction with the warehouse team). The purchasing team work very closely with the sales team, but dealing with the supplier, to organise the purchase, negotiate the price, and where relevant, support the organisation of the shipping of the products to the customers.

Our business has 10 staff, with 4 based internationally or elsewhere in the UK, and a further 6 based in our offices and warehouse in Manston. We are a growing business with big ambitions, so whilst an entry level role, there will be room to grow and develop with the business. Although no formal training will be provided, there will be plenty of opportunities to grow technical knowledge of the equipment, as well as general sales skills.

Job role:

  • Reach out to vendors to support sales enquiries in a timely and speedy fashion.
  • Communicate with other team members to establish customer requirements and sort questions with vendors.
  • Follow up on vendors and manage pipeline.
  • Negotiate prices
  • Establish and organise best shipping process for each order with shipping team.
  • Administer the PO and purchase invoice process

Experience:

  • Have energy and enthusiasm to deal with vendors and build rapport.
  • Computer and IT literate.
  • The commercial aptitude to evaluate and problem solve effectively.

Person spec:

  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Able to work in a fast paced and fun environment, both on email and on the phone.
  • An interest in Audio visual equipment and the entertainment industry is a plus!
  • Multi / bi-lingual would be a plus and result in an increase in starting pay.

Permanent role; 5 days a week, in office; annual salary of £26,000, negotiable if sector experience and or bi-lingual.
