Our client are a fast growth tech business.

They are now looking for a QA/Automation Test Engineer to join the team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The role will be charged with writing scripts and creating automation environments for repeated tests from project inception right through to production. The businesses QA’s test to the best of their ability to ensure the highest level of quality in all digital products. Using different automation tools, you will design, test, and deploy effective test automation solutions. Your goal is to automate as much of the testing effort as possible with a minimum set of code. Intermediates are expected to spend most of their time testing in multiple applications from front to back-end.

The ideal candidate will come with a natural curiosity and analytical nature.

Good communication skills are very important, as you will be working with team members in different locations around the world.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Coding skills.

Skills with playwright or other testing frameworks.

Knowledge of fundamentals of QA methodology. A QA automation engineer should be well versed in manual and automated testing.

Jira experience.

Git experience (advantageous).

SOFT SKILLS

An ability to communicate and collaborate.

End-user empathy.

Eagerness to learn.

Knowledge of development methodologies.

Fit in with the team culture.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Participate in all testing activities, work closely with software development engineers, database, UI design, and cross-functional teams to build scalable, maintainable automation framework and test cases.

Undertaking all system test-related activities in support of client's products.

Understanding system requirements and creating test cases.

Be a key contributor in driving QA best practices, procedures and standards and apply to the testing process.

Contribute to the wider quality function, improving automation testing strategy, with a strong focus on integration, regression, and functional testing.

Understand requirements, articulate options, and solutions, communicate pros and cons and participate in the decision-making process related to platform architecture.

Proactively identify and determine solutions to obstacles during the testing and development process.

Work closely with Product Management and Project Management to deliver sprints/releases on time that meet or exceed documented requirements and expectations.

Be an active participant in defining and overseeing overall development governance and standards and ensure compliance to standards and best practices are followed.

Represent QA in cross-functional team meetings.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

Demonstrable experience designing and implementing automation frameworks, preferably Playwright or similar.

Extensive experience testing web applications.

History implementing reliable test automation (unit/integration/regression) into CI/CD.

Proven experience implementing quality as a mindset within a fast-moving organisation.

Effective communicator with an ability to influence.
