Job Title: Qualified Assessor

Location: UK-Remote, Home based with national travel as required

Salary: £26,000 - £32,000 dependant on qualifications and experienceHours: 40 hours per week

Due to the continued growth of our company, we’re currently looking for a Qualified Assessor to work within our internal Learning & Development team, supporting the delivery of nationally accredited qualifications across the Group.

The Learning & Development team supports and delivers a number of nationally accredited qualifications to our staff members, helping them upskill in their current and future roles. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality training that genuinely supports and is valued by our Education and Care teams.

This includes programmes such as:

  • Teaching Assistants L3
  • Residential Care & Adult Care Workers L3
  • Specialist Educational Needs L3
  • High Level Teaching Assistant L4
  • ILM Leadership & Management L4

As a team, we specialise in developing others, and the same can be said for this role. We are happy to provide support and training in both Assessing and IQA roles to the right candidate. To assess others, you must have experience and base qualifications in our sectors of Education and/or Care.

The main purpose of the role:

  • To support our teams to fulfil their potential through the delivery of high-quality learning activities and interventions.
  • Work with the wider team to build and deliver a range of programmes and enhance development capability across the group. This includes creating resources and tools and delivering workshops via Teams, face-to-face, and online content.
  • To provide Learning Support by assessing candidates’ performance and/or related knowledge in a range of tasks. Ensure that the competence and/or knowledge demonstrated meets the requirements of internal and external standards.
  • To support the wider team in the delivery or verification of non-management programmes.
  • To support with wider Learning and Development projects or be willing to work towards them.

Key duties:

General:

  • To support and build programmes in line with awarding body standards and our centre's values.
  • Where required, to deliver programs in which you have the qualifications and occupational competence to deliver.
  • Internal verification of programs you hold qualifications for and have occupational competency within.
  • Provide general support for Educational/Care Professional Development.
  • To work within a team, and individually being accountable for your own work diary.
  • To have good communication skills.
  • Good record keeping in line with legislation.

Specifics:

  • Delivering a range of learning solutions including workshops that cover both internal and external outcomes.
  • Examining and assessing candidates' portfolios of evidence.
  • Providing feedback and offering advice and support if the standards are not met.
  • Signing off external qualifications when all the requirements have been met.
  • Keeping records of candidates' progress in line with local and national policies and legislation.
  • Attending standardisation meetings with other assessors/managers. To lead standardisation on programmes you are specialising within.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders.
  • To deliver workshops either face-to-face or remotely (nationally).
  • To record and report on learners' progress and liaise with the Line Manager regularly.

Successful candidate qualities:

  • Must have experience and base qualification in our key sectors Education and/or Care.
  • Assessor qualification A1/TAQA (or equivalent) or willing to work towards.
  • IQA qualification (or equivalent) or willing to work towards.
  • To have a teaching qualification PTTLS or equivalent or willing to work towards.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Good level of literacy and numeracy (at least 5 GCSEs above C to include English and Maths) or to have an equivalent.
  • Computer literacy - Excel, Word, Outlook with the ability and willingness to learn to use a range of IT systems.
  • Organised, good time management.
  • Able to prioritise workload.
  • High levels of interpersonal ability with excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Able to work as part of a team and individually as some work will be lone working.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff and professionals with good interpersonal skills.
  • Confidential and reliable.
