My client is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering and manufacturing background, with a proven ability to establish and maintain quality standards that meet customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setting Standards: Establish and embed robust quality standards across the company.
- Monitor Performance: Gather and analyze data to measure performance, identify areas for improvement, and report quality KPIs to senior management.
- Address Quality Concerns: Respond promptly to quality concerns, ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented.
- Customer Queries: Provide rapid responses to customer queries, resolving issues in a timely manner and reporting on the effectiveness of resolutions.
- Develop Relationships: Collaborate closely with the Engineering Design Team and Quality Engineer to address production build issues.
- FAI Reports: Assist in generating First Article Inspection (FAI) reports in coordination with the site Quality Engineer as per customer requirements.
- Understand Customer Needs: Work with Sales Managers to ensure that products consistently meet customer expectations.
- Supplier Capabilities: Liaise with site purchasing to understand supplier capabilities and expectations.
- Maintain Quality Management Systems: Develop and maintain existing and new Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Conduct Audits: Perform internal and supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Lead BSI Audits: Act as the lead during British Standards Institution (BSI) audits and address any non-conformities raised.
- Compliance Returns: Submit annual compliance returns, including Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) reports.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a Quality Assurance role with a strong engineering/manufacturing background.
- Quality trained with a solid understanding of ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Proven record of establishing internal quality standards and meeting customer expectations.
- Practical understanding of WEEE, RoHS, and REACH compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with various teams and stakeholders.
