Originally a family-owned firm, the company has grown through organic expansion and strategic acquisitions into a >£500m turnover ingredients business.With multiple sites across the UK and nearly 500 employees, they continue to lead the way in the industry.This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic, forward-thinking company and be part of their continued success.Job PurposeCoordinate all aspects of compliance for incoming materials, storage, finished product and services, ensuring all results, incidents and audits are reviewed and any anomalies raised, and action plans put in place to progress.Responsibilities
- Testing products, performing physiochemical, microbiological and organoleptic analyses (weight, pehametric, photometric, titrometric, taste panel, media preparation).
- Ensure all Labs and control rooms are maintained in a clean and hygienic environment within the relevant work areas, adopting a clean-as-you-go policy
- Coordinate and carry out testing of all materials including Effluent, Water, Environment, Chemical, Raw, Intermediate, Storage and Packed Product as required. Review results and ensure any anomalies are raised prior to release of product
- Coordinate shelf life trials, and additional testing for contaminant monitoring programmes. Organising any non-routine testing as requested by your Manager, sales team or customers
- Organise regular service intervals for all equipment used in the laboratory. Ensure all calibrations are kept within specification for all testing equipment offline, in line and on line
- Co-ordinate with the Production Managers and Quality Manager on specific Quality issues and undertake investigation work where necessary
- Ensure that the HACCP document is completed accurately and in full on a daily basis thus ensuring full traceability on site and advise Departmental Managers on any non-compliance for rectification
- Review and update procedures, documents, policies and specifications including Laboratory Standard Methods, Environmental and Quality documents on a regular basis. Ensure that all the Production staff are trained to complete all analyses following these approved standard methods
- Ensure all Audits are completed including Monthly Internal Audits, External Audits, Glass and Hygiene audits as per agreed schedule and that any corrective actions are identified and closed out
- Maintain and administer the Incident Management System & Complaint System ensuring all issues are investigated to root cause and closed out sufficiently
- Ensure required reports are collated on a timely basis
