Job Description :
ROLE - Quality EngineerLOCATION – DerbyTERM – PermanentSALARY - £35,000 - £45,000 per annum depending on experienceYour Responsibilities
  • Ensure the local Quality Management System aligns with the agreed scope and maintains ISO 9001 compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and develop new products or implement changes to existing products, ensuring compliance with customer and legislative requirements.
  • Monitor and support quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) during project phases, providing evidence to demonstrate that targets are being met.
  • Oversee non-conformance and concern management processes.
  • Implement effective containment, corrective, and preventive actions using the Global 8D approach.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to broader business improvement initiatives.
  • Report site KPIs and metrics, highlighting performance, compliance, and improvement opportunities, and develop action plans to address identified gaps.
  • Establish and maintain robust quality control systems to meet internal and external customer expectations.
  • Plan and conduct internal audits, address identified issues, and implement corrective actions to close non-conformances.
  • Adhere to the company Health, Safety, and Environmental Policy.
Qualifications and SkillsKey Skills
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Thorough understanding of ISO 9001:2015 standards and experience in ISO-compliant environments.
  • Proven ability to conduct internal audits and manage compliance systems.
  • Strong knowledge of root cause analysis tools and techniques such as 8D, Cause and Effect Diagrams, and 5 Whys.
  • Competence in managing systems to ensure process inputs meet required specifications.
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with inspection processes and quality control equipment.
