We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Quality Manager / Quality Assurance Leadwith previous experience as a Quality professional, ideally from a plastics manufacturing environment, in depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards, who has excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
Working as the Quality Manager / Quality Assurance Lead you will ensure the organisation’s final products meet compliance to legal standards and meet customer expectations to the agreed Quality standards.
As the Quality Manager / Quality Assurance Lead you must fully understand the requirements for the product, service and have a sense of responsibility towards potential and existing customers.
DUTIES
Your duties as the Quality Manager / Quality Assurance Lead include:
- Understand customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes
- Devise and review specifications for products or processes
- Work closely with the respective department head to ensure continuous improvement through RCA and 5 Why analysis
- Work in collaboration with site OPEX team to drive a culture of continuous improvement and corrective actions
- Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines as well as legal obligations for the products made and the site health and safety policy
- Supervise coordinators, inspectors, works closely with technicians, and other staff and provide guidance and feedback for Quality improvement
- Oversee all trial product development procedures to identify deviations from quality standards
- Inspect final output and compare properties to requirements
- Approve the right products or reject defective products ensures a robust isolation process is managed with department heads
- Keep accurate documentation and perform statistical analysis of products with scope
- Solicit feedback from customers to assess whether their requirements are met
- Submit detailed reports to appropriate managers and plant management
- Ensures effective feedback to all customers on any complaints in a timely and effective manner ensures all corrective actions are completed in agreed timeframe
- Continually supports opportunities for improvement and develop new efficient procedures to ensure Quality compliance
- Ensures all team members are trained to carry out their job role, works closely with all department heads to ensure all team members are trained in quality compliance for their respective department
- Works with and forms healthy relationships with regional Quality to ensure corporate initiatives are adhered to and implemented
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Extensive proven experience as a quality manager ideally from a plastics manufacturing background
- Conscientious and responsible with a culture of continuous Quality improvement
- A keen eye for detail and a result driven approach
- Outstanding communication skills
- Excellent organisational and strong leadership skills with the ability to develop teams across a multi-functional manufacturing process
- In depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards
- Excellent maths abilities and working knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods and the ability to identify trends and react accordingly
- Degree Qualified or equivalent in a relevant Quality discipline is essential
- Knowledge of FSSC 22000 or BRC certification desirable
- A great quality manager is thorough and observant with an eye for detail!
