Job Description:Job Title Quantitative Strategist (Python Developer) Location London Corporate Title Associate Group Strategic Analytics is part of Group Chief Operation Office (COO) which acts as the bridge between the Bank's businesses and infrastructure functions to help deliver the efficiency, control, and transformation goals of the Bank. You will be joining the Quantitative Fixed Income (QFI) Engineering team, part of Group Strategic Analytics. The Python team in QFI Engineering is responsible for the delivery of functionality that supports a critical e-Trading platform. This functionality is applied in multiple contexts including research & analysis, model development and calibration of live trading algorithms. Our libraries and frameworks are used by bond trading desk quants. As a member of the Python team you will be developing and enhancing our libraries and frameworks for bonds, promoting modern software development practices, and collaborating closely with desk quants. Your key responsibilities
  • Responsible for development of our Python quant frameworks including design and implementation of new features, enhancements to existing features, development of automated tests, debugging, developing robust defect fixes, proactively refactoring and enhancing the software, actively improving DevOps and participation in code reviews as author/reviewer
  • Closely work with and collaborate with quants. Provide technology leadership, encourage software development best practices and help in the development of quant software
  • Work with Quality Assurance (QA) engineers, QFI developers, support teams and other development teams globally
Your skills and experience
  • Python and Pandas skills are essential, including experience in Data Science and Machine Learning Python libraries/tools, such as NumPy, scikit-learn, Jupyter Notebooks or other relevant libraries/tools
  • Knowledge and experience of fixed income/bonds would be an advantage, or the background necessary to gain an understanding of it
  • Experience of modern software development practices
  • Previous experience of handling and querying large datasets, ideally using KDB/Q
  • Previous experience of working with multiple external data sources and the challenges they present, plus experience of data pipelines and analysis would be an advantage
