Quantity Surveyor - Berkshire Local Authority - Reed : Job Details

Are you a talented and experienced Quantity Surveyor looking for a new opportunity? We have an exciting 6-month appointment with the possibility of extension, offering a mix of remote and on-site working with flexible hours.

• Position: Quantity Surveyor
• Duration: 6 months (with possible extension)
• Working Hours: 37 hours per week
• Location: Reading area
• Working Arrangement: Hybrid 

• Effective cost control of housing projects
• Preparation of estimates and contract documentation
• Financial management of contractors and suppliers
• Ensuring payments comply with Council regulations
• Developing, managing, and operating Schedule of Rates
• Monitoring external contractor/supply chain costs
• Providing professional and technical advice to Councillors and Officers
• Managing tender procedures, assessments, and contract documents
• Overseeing the trade productivity scheme

• Relevant industry qualification (RICS/BSc/HND/HNC)
• Experience in procurement and contract management
• Budgetary control experience
• Knowledge of statutory legislation and building regulations
• Experience with social housing projects is advantageous
