Job Description:
Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in your career? My client is seeking a dynamic and skilled individual to join the team in either Nottingham or Suffolk. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering high-quality services to clients. This role is open to junior candidates up to senior level candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial Management: Overseeing day-to-day commercial activities across a portfolio of projects, typically around the £5 million mark at any given time, though this may fluctuate.
- Contract Variations and Compensation Events: Managing and pricing contract variations and compensation events to ensure accurate project valuation and compliance with contract terms.
- Payment Management: Preparing and issuing sub-contractor payment notices, pursuing payment and payless notices when due, and following up on any late payments from clients.
- Project Financial Reporting: Completing monthly project Cost Value Reconciliations (CVR), along with associated forecasting and financial reporting to maintain project profitability and accuracy.
- Workload Planning: Maintaining and updating forward workload schedules to ensure efficient resource allocation and project planning.
- Dispute Resolution: Assisting in the resolution of contractual disputes as needed, both for ongoing and legacy projects.
- Site Visits: Conducting site visits to survey and value projects, ensuring accurate assessments and reporting.
- Training and Development: Supporting the development and training of Assistant Quantity Surveyors to enhance their skills and capabilities.
- Carbon Credit Management: Assisting in the management of carbon credits and completing any related reporting requirements from clients.
Qualifications:
- BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Experience working on similar projects within the construction industry
- Proficient use of Microsoft Excel
Skills and Competencies:
- Proven success working on a variety of construction projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Knowledge of construction contracts (JCT/NEC)
