The Opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join BEAR Scotland’s commercial team, working on a long-term contract with Transport Scotland to manage and maintain the Scottish Trunk Road Network. Based at the Perth office, this role offers a hybrid working model with three days in the office and two days working remotely.

The standard working hours are 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will ensure the effective delivery of the commercial function within the Contract by collaborating with the team to:

• Measure and value the progress of works based on a schedule of rates.
• Collect, collate, and store relevant measurement data.
• Ensure operational teams complete all site and measurement records.
• Manage Subcontractors, including assessing applications, preparing payment notices, and calculating monthly liabilities and accruals.
• Report on cost/value analysis for various projects.

Your Skills and Experience

We are looking to hear from candidates who possess the following skills and qualifications:

Essential:

• Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management degree or equivalent qualification.
• Proven Quantity Surveying experience.

Desirable:

• Background in civil or construction environments.
• Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to manage, set priorities, and meet strict deadlines.
• Effective communication and interaction skills.
• Sound knowledge of MMHW.
