Role Overview
We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team and play a key role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in cost management, procurement, and contract administration, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for construction projects.
- Manage tender processes, including preparing documentation and evaluating contractor bids.
- Conduct regular valuations and cost monitoring to ensure financial control.
- Administer contracts, including JCT and NEC, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
- Assess and negotiate variations, claims, and final accounts.
- Conduct site visits to review progress and validate completed work against contracts.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and contractors to ensure cost efficiency and risk mitigation.
- Prepare and present cost forecasts and reports to stakeholders.
- Provide advice on procurement strategies and value engineering.
Skills & Qualifications
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably within the construction or consultancy sector.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and cost management principles.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects effectively.
- Chartered status (RICS or working towards) is desirable but not essential.
