R&D Technician - Bennett & Game Recruitment : Job Details

My client is a leading Resin and Polymers manufacturer based in Wigan that supply products to a range of industries globally. They are looking to hire an R&D Technician to join their established team in Standish, Wigan. The ideal candidate will have a background in Laboratory Research and Development, will be familiar with ISO Quality management systems, will be proficient in Chemical process and will be based within a commutable distance of Standish, Wigan.

• Undertaking experimental work in accordance with the R&D manual
• Recording all process information to allow review and generation of process instructions
• Preparing laboratory samples and testing and evaluation of Raw materials & Competitor products
• Calibration of lab equipment
• Supporting QA issues in relation to reworks, complaints, incidents and rejects
• Providing support for production and QC departments
• Preparing samples for dispatch

• Able to follow Chemistry testing techniques
• BTEC / HNC in Chemistry or equivalent level 4 qualification in Chemistry
• Experience working in a busy laboratory environment
• Good I.T skills across both Microsoft office and ERP Systems
• Strong understanding of Chemical processes
• Experience working in a Chemical process / COMAH environment desirable
• A familiarity with ISO9001, 14001 & 45001 desirable
• Either IOSH, First Aid, or Internal Auditor trained also desirable
• Based within commutable distance of Wigan

• £12.60 per hour
• Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 16:30 (42.5 hours a week)
• 33 Days holiday inclusive of public holidays
